Deepti sharma run out

On a day when the India women's cricket team honoured Julan Goswami, Deepti Sharma gave England a humiliating loss on Saturday by running out Charlie Dean at the nonstriker's end, a move formerly known as mankading, to secure the hosts' tenth wicket and win the game. As England was bowled out for 153 in 43.3 overs while attempting to chase down a modest score of 170, the wicket secured India a 16-run victory over the hosts.

Having set up Jhulan Goswami's great finale with a wicket and a maiden in her final international over, the incident occurred during a crucial stretch of the game.

Charlie Dean, however, played a valiant innings with England requiring 17 runs off 39 balls (47 off 80).

The method of dismissal was once a topic of discussion, but now that the MCC has made it a law, there shouldn't be any disagreement over the "Spirit of Cricket" surrounding it, albeit that isn't always the case.

As soon as fans highlighted R Ashwin after the game for obvious reasons, he quickly became trending on Twitter. Ashwin is a strong supporter of the style of dismissal and notably ran out Jos Buttler similarly in the IPL 2019. The off-spinner responded cheekily to Deepti's run out without offering any commentary.

"Ashwin, why the heck are you trending? It's about another bowling hero tonight, @Deepti Sharma06," he tweeted. The method of termination was formerly a topic of discussion, but now that MCC has made it a law, there should be no more argument about it.
